Summary

Ever wonder how wine professionals detect all those descriptors they use? Things like "Forest Floor", "Tobacco pouch", "Soft leather", "Rose Petals", etc., all may seem foriegn and pretentious. But after this exercise attendees will begin to detect more nuanced aroma compounds in every wine they choose. Who knows, maybe "wine writer" is your next side hustle?!

Description

Selecting a single white varietal and a single red varietal, we'll amplify each wine's elemental aromas using 5-10 aroma samples. An example of an aroma sample might mix the wine in question and butter, or cinnamon, or leather, or oak, or... you get the idea.

Smelling these 'amplified' aroma samples before smelling the wine alone helps us focus on that one aromatic element, and soon we can all describe wines like pros!

Requirements

$100/attendee* ($1,500 minimum)
90 minutes on-site prep time
5-10 glasses for the aroma samples (per wine)
Two varietal maximum
Price includes tastes of up to four wines from the varietals selected for the exercise (Ex. Cabernet or Pinot Noir or Chardonnay or... try something fun and unique!)
Invoice payments are acceptable - 50% upon project initiation, 50% prior to start of event.
