The WineCôtes du Rhône (COAT do RONE) wines are among my favorite every-day reds. Flavors this complex and alluring simply can't be found in most bottles of this price. The Jaume family had been working with this grower for decades, so when the grower was ready to retire, the grower sold their 135-acre property to the family to maintain continuity.
A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, and Cinsault (65/20/10/5) - four of the classic grapes found in wines of the Côtes du Rhône. Look for aromas of bramble berries and raspberries with some black pepper and exotic spices. Drink now through 2025.
The Winery
Alain Jaume is a sizable, family-run business, producing wine in Southern France since 1826. Alain is the current proprietor, and his three adult children are poised to take the reins once he decides it's time for other pursuits.
The Rhône region is found South of Lyon and North of Marseille, about half way between the two. With holdings or grower relationships throughout the region, they now produce 16 wines other than this one.
