The WineLight in color, transparent even, with a pink hue leaning towards a salmon color. Inviting nose of framboise, flowers and inticing hints of freshly sliced green bell peppar. Perfect picnic wine! My regular customers know I have a thing for finding great rosés I can sell for less than $20. With the rising prices of late, it's getting more difficult to do, but this one is still solidly in that range. Enjoy it while you can!
11.5% ABV. Enjoy now through 2023
The Winery
Wines from the larger region, Anjou-Saumur, are perhaps most famous for their dessert wines, which can rival those of Sauterne but offer far greater value. But when it comes to the popular rosés of the area, the best come from the "Cabernet d'Anjou" appellation, where wines from 100% Cabernet Franc is the order of the day.
And this wine is like a time machine for me, taking me back to a foraged picnic (ok, foraged from a farmer's market, but still) eaten on the banks of the Loire River - try it with a runny goat cheese, a really good baguette and some fresh strawberries.
