The Wine

The wine starts with a dark ruby color and progresses to a spicy nose with dried lavender, violets and vanilla. On the palate, look for strawberry jam, root beer, white pepper, salted caramel and seared mushrooms. Medium+ Body. The finish is very fruit forward and has plenty of acidity to add to its length.

A bigger Pinot, as is common from the SLH region, that works well on its own during the cocktail hour, or with the cheese course, or with bigger dishes such as roast chicken, pork (especially with mushrooms and/or cherry reduction) or even beef. Estate fruit organically farmed.

Drink now through 2028.

The Winery

This operation owns two vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands, the Petersen Vineyard and the Cortada Alta vineyard (the highest elevation in the AVA). Both are farmed organically. The low-lying Petersen vineyard brings aromatics and elegance, while Cortada Alta contributes structure and intensity.
