The Wine
Rosé wines made from the Pinot Noir grape can be flabby. That is, they lack sufficient acid to appeal to lovers of today's crisp, tart style of dry Rosés. This wine is a pleasant exception, balancing red fruit aromas/flavors (the Rosé classics - strawberry and watermelon) with a nice citric tang. Drink it year-round at about 50 degrees F. Drink now through 2025.
The Winery
This sustainable, gravity-fed and solar-powered winery was founded in 1989 by Rick Moshin, a San Jose State math instructor. The original 10 acres has grown to 28 acres under vine (mostly Pinot) in Sonoma's Russian River Valley. The winery embraces sustainability, using a unique, 4-tier process, moving the grapes/must/finished wine by gravity between each step. Add their solar power grid, sustainable growing practicws and minimal intervention winemaking and they become the poster child for sustainability and fan favorites among those who worship at the alter of "natural wine".
