The WineAn homage to the great red blends from the South of France, this wine is a blend of Grenache (71%), Syrah (12%), Mourvedre (12%) and Counoise (5%). It is big but balanced, and calls for braised meats, stews, smoked meats or grilled foods whose smoke can bridge to the wine. The wine was aged for 20 months in neutral oak prior to bottling, a choice that allows the wine to show the essence of the fruit and vineyard without the oak and vanilla notes brought by newer oak.
In the galss, the wine offers both high-toned and base-note aromas - cherries and strawberries but also dark bramble berries - seasoned with sweet pie spices and served with a side of mocha aromatics. The palate is a delightful blend of raspberry and purple flowers like lavender and violets that lead to a long finish featuring freshly-ground pepper and again with the baking spices.

The Winery
Tim Slater took the helm at Sarah’s Vineyard when he purchased the vineyards and winery in 2001. A true Rennaisance man, Tim has been a successful DJ, musician, and a “micro-machining” engineer with many patents to his name. He brought a science-driven approach to replanting and modernizing the winery, bringing both his artistic sensibility and a traditionalist’s love of the land.
A very hands-on proprietor, Tim is both grower and winemaker, constantly experimenting in the vineyard and in the cellar as well as the tasting room, where he enthusiastically shares his latest discoveries.
Under Tim's watchful eye, Sarah's Vineyard has flourished. His philosophy is a simple one: bottle by bottle, vintage by vintage, to capture the “music of the vineyard in every bottle”, his term for capturing the unique aspect of the grape - its vineyard, its vintage conditions, and its conditions upon harvest.
