The Wine2018 was a near perfect growing season as the temperatures were cool and without major heat spikes, creating wines with wonderful red fruit flavors and good acidity. Our 2018 "T" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is aged for 10 months in 100% oak - 1 yr, 2 yr and neutral barrels.
Fruit-forward aromas and flavors of red cherry (cranberry, red plum) with a hint of sweet baking spices (allspice, cardamom, cinammon...) all supported by a foundation of good acidity (3.9 pH) that makes this such a good food wine. This wine is immediately enjoyable, and has the ability to age through 2026. 13.6% ABV.
In addition to being a successful banker and (now) grape grower, he's also the artist behind this label design.
The Winery
This wine began in 1999 on a trip Thomas took to the Burgundy region. He started at one end worked his way to the other, tasting the differences of each region's unique expression of the same grape. Along the way, he began to dream about creating a similarly unique atmosphere and expression of Pinot Noir when he returned home. By the time his trip was over, the dream was in full bloom.
By 2001 the dream had reached the fever pitch of passion, and he purchased 36 acres in Anderson Valley. The property has been under gradual development ever since, allowing him time to learn the business from the ground up. By 2008 he'd planted his first 3.5 acres of Pinot Noir vines, built a house and then the winery facility. Thomas sold his grapes to other growers for 7 years, then in 2017 he used a small portion to produce his initial release of his estate reserve Pinot. It was showered with stellar reviews, and the following year he used 100% of his crop to produce four different Pinots.
An advocate of sustainable farming and low-intervention winemaking, Thomas invites you to join his dream by enjoying this bottle of Thomas T Thomas Pinot Noir.
