Wines fit for immediate pleasure, but which can be cellared.
This is the perfect club for the budding collector (I recommend opting for 2 or 3 bottles of each selection - just use the drop-down menu) or for anyone who loves entertaining.
The rewards of wine collecting are great! After tasting a well-aged red, you'll know the pleasures of wine at a much deeper level, one that few others get to know. After a year of receiving these selections, you'll have the beginning of a collection that will offer many nights of future pleasures.
Why collect wine?
A collection of wine allows you to monitor its evolution over time, and to catch it at its peak of development. One of my criteria for selecting wines for this club are that it is capable of improving for 3-5 years of quiet repose in a dark storage area, BUT, that they also deliver great deliciousness at the time of delivery.
Why do you recommend 2 or 3 bottles of each selection? Isn't that awfully self-serving?!
Only do so if you feel it's serving both of us equally, of course. I'm happy to have you select just a single bottle of each selection (that is, three bottles in each shipment) and then order more of just those you enjoy most. But if you're interested in collecting, it's easy and convenient to get multiple bottles in each shipment, so you can taste the wine throughout at various points in its evolution. Plus, your shipping cost (per bottle) goes down pretty significantly!
Why $32/bottle?
Only 5% of wine drinkers spend more than $20 on a bottle of wine, and wines around $30 provide a great starting point for age-worthy wines. This is also about the "ouch point" for many people when it comes to a wine budget. It is my hope that this club will introduce many more people to the joys of aged wine.
Membership Details: Each quarterly shipment contains three new wine discoveries (one white, two red, unless otherwise specified during sign-up). I will store your wine at no cost when extreme weather suggests we avoid shipping. In such cases, you'll be contacted directly to arrange shipment at a later date.
We believe "Every good wine has a story", and we tell that story by including a video with every wine in our club shipment. Just scan the QR code that's part of our label and you'll be taken directly to the wine's video, easily accessed wherever and whenever you choose to open and share your wine!
