The Wine

This wine is a blend of all five of the Bordeaux varieties - Cabernet, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Dark garnet in color with great depth lead to enticing aromas of blackberry, baking spice, plum and cassis and hints of the classic "Rutherford Dust" that is evident on the palate.

The Rutherford area earned its lofty reputation in the last century when winemaker/mentor/advocate Andre Tchelistcheff (chell eh cheff) was quoted as saying "It takes Rutherford Dust to grow great Cabernet - and today the term has become an accepted descriptor for the unique characteristics found in Cabernet from this special part of Napa.

The Winery

A family-owned vineyard and winery, Wm Harrison farms high-quality grapes for these small-production Napa Valley wines. Since 1993, the Harrisons have produced all five Bordeaux varieties on a nine-acre ranch in Napa Valley's famed Rutherford appellation (think Corison, Whitehall Lane, Hall, Niebaum Coppola, Beaulieu Vineards...). Including their Carneros Chardonnay, the winery's annual output is still only 2,000 cases.
